Mobileye Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)

Mobileye 8 Connect

Mobileye leads the world in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with over 50 million vehicles fitted with their technology globally. Mobileye also supplies the required ADAS systems to over 25 automakers allowing them to meet international safety standards.

Tens of millions of people around the world trust Mobileye with their safety every time they get behind the wheel. You too can trust Mobileye 8 Connect ADAS to get you home safely.

The Mobileye 8 Connect system analyses the risk of collision, lane departure, headway/following time, excessive speed, and pedestrian hazards. When a threat is detected, Mobileye warns the driver with visual and audible alerts in real time. This allows the driver time to react and possibly avoid a collision.

Headway-MonitoringHeadway Monitoring

Following too closely is one of the main causes of rear-end collisions and is even more dangerous in bad weather conditions. Many drivers underestimate the amount of time needed to stop safely.

HMW monitors the distance (measured in seconds) from the vehicle ahead when that time is 2.5 seconds or less, and issues an alert if the distance is below or equal to a predefined threshold. This threshold is set by S & S Security Solutions Ltd at the time of installation in consultation with the operator. It can be modified at a later date if needed.

Forward-Collision-WarningForward Collision Warning

Rear-end crashes are one of the most common types of collisions. They are often the result of drivers following too closely or drivers that are distracted or speeding. In fact, 40% of rear-end collisions have no brake application whatsoever reflecting driver distraction. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has found that over 80% of rear-end crashes could be prevented with forward collision avoidance systems.

The System sends a visual and audio alert when it detects an imminent collision with a vehicle or motorcycle ahead, both on highways and in urban areas. The System issues an alert up to 2.7 seconds before a collision, allowing time to react. The Forward Collision Warning alert is based on the calculation of the Time to Collision (TTC) with the vehicle ahead, taking into account the distance from it and the relative traveling speed.

Padestrian-WarningPedestrian & Cyclist Collision Warning

Pedestrians and cyclists are the most vulnerable road users, especially in urban locations and where buses and trucks are manoeuvring in very crowded areas. Globally, pedestrians account for 22% of all road traffic fatalities.

The Mobileye system sends a visual and audio alert before an imminent collision with a pedestrian or cyclist, allowing the driver time to react. The Time to Collision (TTC) is calculated and when it drops below 2 seconds, a Pedestrian Collision Warning is sounded.

Speed-Limit-IndicatorSpeed Limit Indicator & Traffic Sign Recognition

In 2016, speeding or travelling too fast for conditions contributed to 24% of fatalities in Great Britain. Ignoring posted speed limits can also lead to large fines, extra fuel costs and possibly increased insurance costs.

Mobileye’s speed limit indicator scans for speed limit signs along the road. When a driver exceeds the speed limit, a visual indicator alerts them – a helpful reminder for the driver to maintain a safe speed.

Lane-departureLane Departure Warning

A large proportion of crash fatalities and serious injuries are caused by run-off-road crashes, which typically start with unintended lane departure. In fact, 60% of road accident fatalities are due to unintentional lane departure.

The Mobileye system sends a visual and audio alert when there is a lane deviation without signalling. Indication will cancel the alert.

High-Beam-ControlIntelligent High Beam Control

Night driving adds additional challenges for drivers including the common occurrence of being blinded by the high-beam lights of oncoming vehicles. In addition to this the operation of high-beams can often be forgotten leading to the blinding of other drivers.

The Mobileye system can be used to trigger the deactivation of high-beams when a oncoming vehicle is detected. This feature is additional and not available on every vehicle. Please consult S & S for advice for your application.
