Many motorists have found the dashcam to be a useful resource for legal purposes or even entertainment. Dashcams can record both audio and video, usually to a DVD disk inside the camera itself. Here's why using a commercial vehicle camera might benefit your business. Tracking Employee Behavior The ubiquity of DVRs and dashboard cameras in all types of vehicles is changing the landscape when it comes to maintaining a fleet. For example, you can capture footage from every vehicle at your company so that if an accident does happen, it can be analyzed with full context. Dashcams aren't just useful for commercial fleets, they're perfect for keeping an eye on your employees while they're out on the road. This might sound a little Big Brother-ish, but there are many valid applications. For example, if you have a driver who is suspected of drinking and driving or even texting behind the wheel, it's easy enough to review all of the footage to find out what really happened. It might not be fun watching your employees constantly, but it's better than finding out later that they were putting public safety at risk. Security We now live in an age where anytime something happens, someone has filmed it with their smartphone. Dashcams can provide valuable evidence during hit-and -run accidents and other crimes. If your business is in an area with a lot of car break-ins, having the footage of the incident and what led up to it can help speed up the claims process. It's not just about protecting property either; commercial vehicle cameras can provide valuable eyewitness accounts during robberies or even terrorist attacks. The footage can be beneficial should you ever need to review the tape for any reason. Protecting Your Fleet If you're a business owner, then chances are you have a fleet of commercial vehicles that require constant maintenance and repair. However, it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of your drivers miles from your location. Having a dashcam installed is something.
